The Miracle of Fatima Musical
It began with a voice on the beach
The Miracle of Fatima musical wasn't Barbara Oleynick's original thesis topic. In 1998, she was writing about her life at New York University's Tisch School of Art's Graduate Writing Musical Theater Program. But everything changed in May, while running on the beach praying the rosary. She heard a voice so real she thought someone was behind her. The simple message: "You must write about the Marian Apparitions."
The words haunted her day and night. She began researching, but after several attempts to follow this strange command, she became overwhelmed. Feeling angry, unworthy, and frustrated, she stormed out of her writing room and went for another run, this time without her rosary beads.
Upon returning, her room was filled with the unmistakable scent of roses. It was a turning point. The rest, as they say, is history.
